ALEXA MORTON

My name is Alexa Morton and I am a current senior at Texas A&M University. I am earning my degree in Horticulture, with an emphasis in Floral Design and Special Events, a minor in Business Administration, as well as my Professional Event Management Certificate, in May 2015. My degree has assisted me in developing new skills and knowledge, and has strengthened my passion for special events. During my time at Texas A&M University I have gotten hands-on experience leading, planning, and working events through organizations such as Zeta Tau Alpha, Student Event Planners Association, Aggie Sisters for Christ, and the Aggie Orientation Leadership program. I was blessed with the opportunity to receive a hospitality internship with the Walt Disney World College Program my junior year, which enhanced my customer service skills. I launched my own business, HOWDYlicious Cookies, in November 2014 giving me hands on experience with marketing, financial, and other aspects of a business. This semester I am also an event intern for Astin Mansion Event Center, which was voted “Top 10 Wedding Venues in The Houston Area” by The Knot Magazine.
